The shelter house is one of Madinah Foundation's principal projects, assisting the vulnerable and homeless, especially those recovering from emergency scenarios, particularly women subjected to domestic violence or are in danger due to exercising the right to make decisions in their lives.
Madina Foundation has established a Panahgah (Shelter Home) in the city of Faisalabad. Situated at the General Bus Stand, this facility is the first of its kind in the city that spreads over an area of approximately 4.15 kanals and was completed at a cost of around USD 225,000.
Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the Panahgah on January 03, 2020, in the presence of several officials amongst others of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. Besides this, he met the people staying there and also was present during the official MOU signing ceremony.
Necessary facilities including bedding, drinking water, Three Meals a day, toilets, electricity, and other basic amenities are made available for the residents. In this Project Madinah Foundation has add a separate unit for transgender people in the 350 beds shelter home. This shelter home has enormous importance in the region, due to extreme weather conditions. It creates ease for travelers and those who are destitute, who are financially not able to afford a stay or those who do not have any place to stay.
Madinah Foundation aims to provide a safe and serene environment for those in distress. It offers various holistic support services to persons in need, allowing them to reintegrate into society and continue their healing path after leaving the shelter.
